Some DOVE Chocolate history…

“DOVE Chocolate Discoveries” launched officially in March 2007 as “DOVE Chocolate At Home”. We started in NJ and PA with Dove/Mars employees. It took 2 years of “test parties and test marketing” of the concepts before going live. In fact, the first 15 chocolatiers were all Mars employees!   

In May 2008 the company went National, before that point we were only open in approximately 15 states, all on the East Coast. Since that time we have grown from the original 70 Launch Day chocolatiers to over 932 (as of November ’08)! That being said there is still tons of room for growth, and some states have barely any Chocolatiers still. For instance, in Michigan there are only 30 Chocolatiers in the whole darn state.

Having M&M Mars Inc. as our parent has given us some major advantages in the industry! Who knows chocolate better than the Mars Family?! They have the funds, marketing channels, and knowledge to propel this company into a giant in the Direct Sales industry!

Despite a tough economy the premium chocolate market actually has grown, it is one of the very few to do so in recent months. It feels good to know we are in the right place at the right time.

I have seen the company develop, and from the marketing materials such as the catalogs, to the product line and packaging, I can tell you we have made huge strides in such a short time.

Every direct sales company I know claims to be a ground floor opportunity. 

But I have never been involved with company that has less than 1000 distributors, is backed by a multi billion dollar corporation and is so easy to do!  It is interesting, I have never been interested in direct selling businesses, I have had many opportunities. However, they never peaked my interest and always seemed like a scam.  I started becoming interested in this company because it sells chocolate, dessert and drinks, and I thought to myself, MANY people like desserts and even MORE like CHOCOLATE!  I was sold.

I became a Chocolatier in late November of 2008 and started hosting parties in December.  I have had 5 parties to date, on a roll and am excited about the unlimited amount of possibilities.
