Little Chefs

Something that made me smile today.  It happens all of the time but today was different, it was special.  Maybe I am different and I learning to appreciate things differently.

My husband teaching my kids to make chocolate chip pancakes. They were learning, laughing and enjoying themselves.  It didnt last long – but it was beautiful.  Children like to know they are a part of something, that they are special, and they like to learn new things. As parents this is our job, our duty, our promise – to give them EVERYTHING they need. My husband is a great part of their lives.  He has the unique opportunity to be with them each and every day! He is an important part of them and he provides so much to them. In this day and age I am so thankful that I have a husband who is a constant part of my two boys lives and upbringing. What I think is great is that he is teaching them the fundamentals of being great men – he is hard on them and strict, but you know what?  They need that – they need to know they are responsible for their actions, that their are consequences to their choices, they need to understand that leaders make good decisions, they also need to know how to love and respect. Love themselves and what they were brought into this world with. Respect themselves and their bodies and not let anyone disrespect them. Love each other and those in their family. Respect those around them, their elders, peers and even those they dont know.  Respect their belongings and others possessions.

Kids learn by examples, they are little copy cats. So when you provide them with the proper ingredients, a good instructor, great examples and the directions – MAN they becomes the worlds finest chefs!

Each and everyday I pray that I am being a good example to my children and giving them everything they need to create their masterpieces! I know my husband prays for this as well. And to think it all starts with chocolate chip pancakes!!! YUM.
