Enjoy 2010 – the goal should be to stop “trying” and to just keep getting better – no questions asked.

We all make new years resolutions and then struggle to get past January in keeping them.  How can we change this?

First – stop trying.  If you are continuously “trying” you are never “DOING” and doing is the most important part.  When you are trying you are mostly sitting down and wondering how to do it, or you are thinking about it, or strategizing.  Although all of these things are good and great – if nothing comes of it then what?  If we try all of our lives we will never do or accomplish anything. Stop trying and get to doing!

Second – dont wait for the new year to change. It is always good to have a starting point and January 1 is usually easy because you can start the count and no matter where you are in the year you know how long you have been at something.  I give many kudos to those who resolve to do something good for themselves at the beginning of the year and continue on with it for years and years or even just until they are completed with their goal. I think that is so awesome and I salute those that have that will power. However, everyday is an opportunity to change, to set and accomplish new goals.  When you wake up in the morning you are born again, given a new chance to start a new. A new day, a new life, a new path, a new breathe, a new task, a new relationship, a new way – CHANGE . Change is good and everyday we have the ability to make a choice.

In this new year I CHALLENGE you to two things:

  1. Wake up every morning and CHOOSE to make it a great day. Wake up smiling, wake up being thankful, wake up saying you are great! Write the things that you are thankful for in a journal.
  2. Stop trying and JUST DO IT!

Happy New years and make twenty-ten GREAT!
