So, I think you may know that I LOVE food. I like to watch it being cooked/prepared on T.V. I love to cook it, I like to talk about it, I like to think about how it can WOW people. Food is sweet, salty, and experience, spicy and really awesome.
My now 5-year-old son used to say ‘Mom, I love you like good food!” My 8-year-old son says “Oh man, why do we have to watch to food channel again, we are always watching the food channel and you are always cooking!”
Well I wish I could cook more, I wish I could cook for a career but I love it I don’t want to end up hating it. So I would have to be in a place in my life where I had no cares or worries in the world, no need to worry about income or success or anything and just cook. Wow – How do I get there 🙂 Anyway. Until then during the week I will work my little job, I will come home to my family, with a huge smile, hugs and love and think about what cool things I can make. Then on the weekends I will create my magic and watch it disappear.
As I am trying to decide what things I will make this weekend I am watching “5 ingredient fix” it is a pretty good show, today Claire is doing everything pizza dough. White pizza, romaine salad with croutons and a dessert with mascarpone, strawberries and reduced balsamic. YUM! So now I am making some type of pizza this weekend – maybe I will make two.
It is funny my husband just said on these cooking shows with the sounds they make when they taste their food sounds like they are having sex! LOL he is so right. I wonder if the producers tell them to do that. Do you think that makes the food more interesting and tantalizing as you watch the shows? It kind of turns me off.
There was this show called Nigella bites. I swear I could not watch the show, she made food look disgusting and make me not want to make or eat food for a while! I guess she has a following, she has some cook books and has been on some other shows, but wow – she must know some people in some pretty high places. I remember one show she did she was making something a dish that you would eat for breakfast after a night drinking. Now that is some stuff.
Anyway – I did make some deviled eggs for a light lunch today. My oldest asked me before came down, “What are deviled eggs? do they have horns?” Well they liked them. I created my own filling it was pretty good:
- Mayo
- Mustard
- parmesan cheese
- salt/pepper
- smoked paprika
- olives
- Dijon mustard
They were good a little on the salty side but still good.
Question: Why do the shells on the eggs sometimes not come off? Or when they finally do they take half of the egg with it?
peace to you.
