The DragonFly spiritually symbolizes transformation, adaptability, and a deeper connection to light and emotional growth.

Transformation: Evolving from an aquatic being to an air being represents some major (real) personal growth and change.

Overcoming Illusions: I am focusing my teal colored glasses in order to see past any self-doubt or surface realities to recognize my truest potential.

Lightness and Joy: I just want to feel JOY, lightness and freedom. I have had a good portion of heavy burdens and I continue to adapt and enjoy my light-filled, joyful and playful spirit.

Living in the Present: Right here and now! That is where I want me to, this is my goal each day. Being aware of the beautiful beings and things around me while I feel my firmly planted feet.

While attending a women’s retreat in the Adirondacks I shared space, several times, with dragonflies. It’s no coincidence because this retreat was transformational and filled with lightness and Joy. We supported each other with laughter and tears and each of us overcame our individual (limiting) illusions. Living in the present was the goal of the weekend and we created some very strong bonds and brought home many gems of wisdom to meditate on.

This is a poem I wrote after I kayaked for the first time (AND solo) on the lake while being kept company by a Dragonfly that did not want to leave my side.

Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – Don’t leave me alone,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – I didn’t mean to run away,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – that message I didn’t not receive,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – is that you on my sleeve,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – won’t you guide me please,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – I am ready to release,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – Help me be at ease,
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly – I will see you in the breeze.
Dragonfly, Oh Dragonfly.
