My Lines.
I don’t have to tell them where to go.
They don’t ask me how they should go, or for how long.
My lines just are.

I don’t have to worry or think about what is next.
They just show me how to move.
My lines just are.

I don’t have to create a plan to make sure they know what to do;
They just create the path and I follow, while they lead
My lines just are.

I don’t have to cringe; thinking or wondering “Will they be something?”
They just guide me and I discover what they can become.
My lines just are.

I can create as I move, they just move as I create.
I can bring about beauty, they just accept me as I am.
I can meditate and let my mind wander, they just make me shine.
I can be confident, they just move when I am ready.
My lines just are,

So I can just be.

Prose and Poetry from my first Solo Exhibit “Portions” in 2026 at the Hunt Gallery in Buffalo, New York. A poem printed with Red Beet dyed ink. I made natural inks for my show and incorporated spices into some pieces.
